Replacing the password in MS Windows 95, 98, or ME

  1. If you are connected to dial-up, disconnect before continuing
  2. Click the Windows Start Button
  3. Select Run
  4. Type command and press Enter
  5. At the prompt type C:\Windows and press enter
  6. Type del *.pwl and press enter
  7. Restart your machine
  8. When your machine starts back up, it will ask for a username and password
  9. For the username type:
    10. WITTENBERG\username
    making sure WITTENBERG is in all caps
  10. For the password use your Wittenberg University LDAP password
  11. It will then ask you to confirm your password, so type it again
  12. The next time you use Witt's Network Modem Service the correct password will be in place.
