  WinCALIS and Language Programs
WinCALIS is a Language learning tool. Some professors have developed lessons for their classes using the WinCALIS tool. Language students will find WinCALIS on the computer in the Language Lab.
In the Language Lab, Language programs are organized on the computer's screen desktop by language. All Spanish programs are found under the Spanish icon; all German programs are under the German icon; French, Latin, Russian, Chinese, etc.; all are organized in the same way.
More Than One Way to Find WinCALIS
You will see a WinCALIS icon on the desktop. Selecting this icon will put you in the WinCALIS program. If you like to use the Start button on the taskbar, you will find WinCALIS under the Language program selection. If you select a language from the icons on the desktop, WinCALIS will be one of the selections under that language.
Inside WinCALIS
The first screen view of WinCALIS shows the Lessons directory (Q:\WINCALIS\SCRIPTS) WinCALIS calls a lesson a script and organizes the lessons in the 'SCRIPTS' folder. The large window (below the directory window) is the list of available lessons. None of the lessons in this window may be of interest to you. Most of these lessons are demo or sample lessons. Within the script folder are other folders, each identified by a language. This list of language folders appears in the lower left corner of the WinCALIS screen.
