Each year Wittenberg recognizes and rewards outstanding scholastic achievements by awarding merit-based scholarships and special awards to deserving students. Students are automatically considered for these awards once they submit an application to Wittenberg. We select students on the basis of performance, involvement in co-curricular activities, personal references and writing ability.

| Honor Award + Challenge Grant | $4,000 | Based on academic excellence, personal references and co-curricular activities. Once the student earns a 2.75 Wittenberg cumulative GPA, they will receive the Challenge Grant, which adds $2,000 to their award for a total of $6,000, renewable each year. |

This competitive scholarship is awarded to select Lutheran students each year who are nominated by a Lutheran pastor by Oct. 30 and exhibit a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. |
| Broadwell Chinn Award | $16,000 | 3.0 + GPA | This scholarship recognizes diversity among students who have maintained at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. |
| Lutheran Pastor-Parent/Layworker-Parent Grant | Half tuition | Available to dependent children of full-time Lutheran pastors serving a recognized call or call to special service; or to dependent children of full-time church workers in Lutheran ministries. | |
| Yellow Ribbon Grant | Full tuition | This scholarship is offered to military veterans and/or their families. The scholarship, when combined with other VA benefits, provides up to full tuition to qualifying applicants. | |
| Phi Theta Kappa Grant | Half tuition | Offered to any transfer student who is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and has maintained good academic standing. |
Students may only receive one of the merit scholarships listed above. Applicants who qualify at multiple levels will be awarded the program that offers the highest dollar value.
Special Recognition Award: In addition to Merit scholarship programs, Wittenberg recognizes the unique experiences gained through participation in specific activities such as HOBY, Key Club, Boys and Girls State, as well as the attainment of Valedictorian or Salutatorian status. Applicants with one or more of these achievements will be awarded a single Special Recognition Award of $1,000 in addition to any major scholarship they receive.
Fine and Performing Art Scholarships: Fine and Performing Art Scholarships: Wittenberg offers renewable scholarships of up to $5,000 in the areas of Art, Dance, Music, and Theatre. These are awarded to students who display exceptional talent and participate in one or more of these areas while at Wittenberg. Recipients may continue to receive an award from a major scholarship program and a Special Recognition Award, but the combined total of these awards may not exceed $25,000 annually.
