THE WCA ANNUAL DANCE PARTY begins at 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, Ness Family Auditorium, Hollenbeck Hall. Proceeds will go to the Springfield Public Schools' art and music programs.

• WITTENBERG'S GREEK COMMUNITY celebrates its accomplishments and improvements at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, in the CDR. Interim President William Steinbrink will speak.

• MUSIC AT WITTENBERG presents a Faculty Artist Recital featuring Lawrence Pitzer, classical guitar, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 300 Krieg Hall. Pitzer will perform music of South America, Spain and Federico Moreno-Torroba.

• BLACK HISTORY MONTH continues with featured speaker James W. Loewen, author of Lies My Teacher Told Me, at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, in Bayley Auditorium, Barbara Deer Kuss Science Center. Loewen will discuss "Lies My Teacher Told Me About Blacks."Read more ...

BATTLE OF THE ZONES! Wittenberg Dining Services resident version of Food Network's Iron Chef will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, in the Center Dining Room, Benham-Pence Student Center.

THE LEARNED LADIES by Moliere will be presented by an all-student cast directed by Steve Reynolds, professor of theatre and dance at 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 24-26, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, Chakeres Memorial Theatre.

• THE ANNUAL DIVERSITY AWARDS RECEPTION will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, in the Faculty Dining Room in the Benham-Pence Student Center.

SCULPTOR DOUGLAS P. CALISCH will give a slide lecture as part of the Wittenberg Series Artist-in-Residence program at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28. An opening reception of a gallery exhibit of his work will follow. Calisch will work with students in sculpture and photography classes.

• THE ANN MILLER GALLERY will exhibit works by Calisch through Friday, April 28. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

• AN M&M RECITAL featuring students and faculty, will be held at 3 p.m., and a Guest and Faculty Artist Concert will be held at 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, in 300 Krieg Hall. The Calder Quartet with Christopher Durrenberger, piano, will perform String Quartet in g minor by Claude Debussy and Piano Quintet in f minor, op. 34 by Johannes Brahms.

• UNITED HEALTHCARE & NEWSCENTER will hold the 30th annual Swim for Diabetes 1-4 p.m. Sunday, March 6, in the HPER Center. • THE WITTENBERG CHOIR BEGINS its annual tour on Thursday, March 3, in Fort Wayne, Ind. The choir will perform concerts in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio before presenting its Home Concert at 8 p.m. Friday, March 18, in Weaver Chapel.

•THE RELAY FOR LIFE COMMITTEE needs volunteers to organize a relay team or to make a pancake breakfast for the participants. The relay will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, April 8, in the Wittenberg stadium. The pancake breakfast will be held Saturday, April 9. Contact Carmiele Wilkerson, assistant professor of English and director of Africana studies, at 327-6127.

• THE FIRST MAJORS FAIR was held Feb. 17. Funded by the Career Center and Student Activities, the event offered students deciding upon a major the opportunity to meet with faculty and student representatives from various academic departments.

THE ORAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER WEB SITE is up and running. The site offers valuable resources for students and faculty.

• THE SIXTH ANNUAL WITTENBERG TRIATHLON is scheduled for Saturday, April 30. The low-key event is open to all Wittenberg faculty, staff, students, alumni and family members, and is staged from the HPER Center. Read more ...
