THE SOCIETY OF PHYSICS STUDENTS (SPS) has selected the Wittenberg chapter as an Outstanding SPS Chapter for the 2003-2004 school year. Less than 10 percent of the chapters nationwide are so honored, about one per state. Elizabeth George, assistant professor of physics, serves as adviser for the chapter. Congratulations to all involved.

THE WOODROW WILSON National Fellowship Foundation Residency Public Address "Pathways to College: Educational Initiatives for Gifted Students of Color," will be presented by Judith Berry Griffin, nationally recognized educational leader. The Wittenberg Series event will begin at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, Bayley Auditorium, Barbara Deer Kuss Science Center. WITTENBERG'S PRESIDENT'S DIVERSITY COMMITTEE and human resources department will offer two sessions of NCAA-sponsored Diversity Training Workshops, 8 a.m.-noon, and 1-5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 105 Shouvlin Center. The sessions, presented by guests from Michigan State University, are open to all faculty and staff. Continental breakfast and afternoon snacks will be provided.
