WITTENBERG STUDENTS INVOLVED IN SCIENCE RESEARCH will give presentations on their projects from 1-2 p.m. each Tuesday, 262 Barbara Deer Kuss Science Center. The series will run from June 28 to Aug. 2, and is open to the public.
THE ANNUAL ICE CREAM SOCIAL will be held from 2-3 p.m. Thursday, July 7 in Commencement Hollow. The event is hosted by the Office of Human Resources and provides an opportunity for faculty, staff and student workers to enjoy a break in their summer schedules.
SEAN MCKINNISS '06 will be studying Scottish
politics from July 17 to Aug. 1 in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom.
The trip is being funded by a grant from the Faculty Research Fund Board.

FOURTEEN STUDENTS participated in a three-week field study in Paris and its environs June 6-26, exploring the history and culture of the Middle Ages. The summer field study titled "Fact and Fiction in Medieval France" combines French and history.
ELEVEN STUDENTS are participating in the New Hampshire - Meredith Municipal Internship field study program through July 29. Placed as unpaid interns, the students will complete one or more projects during their stay. Read more ...
THE UPWARD BOUND PROGRAM currently has 87 students on campus. Ten Wittenberg students are working with the group, and several faculty members are teaching classes. The program ends with a banquet July 15.

WISE ACADEMIC CAMP for high-achieving middle school students welcomed 59 students during its 19th season on campus in June. Academic enrichment is the hallmark of the WISE program, and each camper attends five classes daily and chooses one discipline as a “major.” The residential program includes structured recreational and social programs, and Wittenberg students work as counselors, teaching assistants, mentors and friends.
THE 2005 KALEIDOSCOPE MUSIC CAMP, for string players only, will be held on campus from June 27-June 30. Co-sponsored by the Center for Musical Development and the Springfield Symphony Orchestra (SSO), the camp will select an honor student for each instrument who will perform with the SSO at the Springfield Summer Arts Festival in August.

DEAN OF STUDENTS CAROLYN PERKINS and the student development staff held an Ice Cream Social for university staff and student workers on June 7. The event was held on the Dietrich House/Student Development lawn, and guests enjoyed seeing the progress of the new residence hall construction.
THE SCHOOL OF COMMUNITY EDUCATION (SCE) has surpassed last year's record enrollment of 437 students. On June 30, the enrollment for summer sessions totaled 441 students, and according to Dean of SCE Paul Parlato, it may reach 450 by July 6, the start date of summer session II. SCE enrollment has exceeded the 400s the last two years for the first time since the early 1970s.
DEMOLITION WORK in the serving line area of the Center Dining Room began last month as the initial phase of one of several construction projects on campus. Renovation is expected to be completed by the start of fall semester. Read more ...
THE SCE ADULT DEGREE PROGRAM has announced that Ralph Sizemore received a Health Care Leadership Certificate, Mary Jane Frazier received a Human Resources Certificate, and Deborah K. Edwards received a Health Care Leadership and Human Resources Certificates. The certificate program provides a well-structured foundation for assuming leadership tasks in the community or workplace.
