todd • JOE O'CONNOR, professor of history, will lead the discussion following the viewing of Vukovar, directed by Boro Draskovic, at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21 in Bayley Auditorium, Barbara Deer Kuss Science Center. The program is the final offering in the International Film Series fall semester programming.

todd • ALAN MCEVOY, professor of sociology, and LINDA LAUFFENBURGER, director of student counseling, will present "Students and Trauma: The Psychological Challenge of the First College Year" during the WittSems Faculty Lunch at noon Thursday, Dec. 2, 105B Shouvlin Center.

kennedy • TOM KENNEDY, associate professor of music, and Joyce Wendel, adjunct of music, will conduct the Wittenberg Symphonic Band and the Wittenberg Chamber Singers in concert at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, location TBA. Kennedy also conducted the Wittenberg University Symphonic Band on Nov. 6 in a concert celebrating the 150th birthday of John Philip Sousa.

fryMAUREEN FRY, director of the Writing Center, wrote a poem titled "The Way It Is," which earned a Pushcart Nomination. The poem relates the woes of campus as crows fly in each evening from fall to late winter. This year's nightly invasion has begun.

todd • JEFF ANKROM, professor of economics, was recently inducted into the Lancaster High School Hall of Fame, which was started in 1991 to recognize outstanding graduates who excelled in their particular form of service.

MartinTOM MARTIN, professor of HFS, was recently quoted in an article about the Little Miami River in the Cincinnati Enquirer. The article also tells about Martin's Web site on the river.

• NANCY MCHUGH, associate professor of philosophy and director of women's studies, presented "Telling Her Own Truth: June Jordan, Black English and the Epistemology of Ignorance" in a colloquium sponsored by women's studies, Africana studies and philosophy, Nov. 17.

kennedyCAROL ORMAND, visiting assistant professor of geology, presented "Keeping it Real: Making the Geology of the National Parks Relevant for Non-Science Majors" at the 116th annual meeting of the Geological Society of America earlier this month in Denver.

todd • CAROL J. TODD, adjunct instructor of music, directed The Wittenberg Singers fall concert "Music for the Season," Nov. 14.

• LORI AKINS, adjunct instructor of music, directed The Wittenberg Flute Choir, and RICHARD YORK, adjunct instructor of music, directed the Wittenberg Chamber Ensembles in concert, Nov. 15.
