• KEN SCHEFFEL, associate professor of music, department chair and director of the Opera Studio, will direct the Wittenberg Opera Studio Scene Performance "Scenes from Mozart's The Magic Flute Cosi fan tutte" at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 29, Krieg Hall Opera Studio.

• DOUGLAS K. LEHMAN, library director and associate professor, delivered the keynote address at the Dade County Library Association's Library Fair held at Carlos Albizu University in Miami, Fla., March 21. His presentation, "The Crisis In Scholarly Communication: Why Open Access Matters To All Librarians!" explored the problems surrounding the current scholarly communication and publishing model and why the open access movement provides a solution to the problem. Lehman also reviewed Bayonets in the Wilderness: Anthony Wayne's Legion in the Old Northwest by Alan D. Gaff. The review appeared in Material Culture: Journal of the PAS, v 29 (1) for Spring 2007. The journal is available in the periodical section of the library and is edited by Artimus Keiffer, assistant professor of geography.

• D'ARCY FALLON, assistant professor of English, reviewed Listen Here: Women Writing in Appalachia, Edited by Sandra L. Ballard and Patricia L. Hudson. The review was published in Material Culture: Journal of the PAS, v 39 (1) for Spring 2007.


Rosenberg• SCOTT ROSENBERG, associate professor of history, received the 2007 Alumni Association Award for Distinguished Teaching. The award was established in 1960, and it is the highest recognition Wittenberg bestows on its faculty.

• ADAM E. PARKER, assistant professor of mathematics, received the Omicron Delta Kappa Award for outstanding teaching by a professor who has been on the faculty five years or less.


• JEFF ANKROM, professor of economics, was quoted in an article titled "The Good News: It's a Buyer's Market for Housing," which appeared in the Springfield News Sun, April 26.
