THE HISTORY, HYMNS AND HOLLY TOUR will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2. Join the Springfield Preservation Alliance for an evening of music, art and architecture on a tour of the historic buildings along East High Street. Tickets are $10.

• SCE STUDENTS BECKY GRAVES, KARIN THUE AND ARTIMUS KEIFFER have art studio spaces downtown, and they are participating in "The Studios at McAdams Holiday Art Sale, Studio Open House & Art Show of Wittenberg Art League members. Art works of local artists done in oil, watercolor, pastel, photography, acrylic, fabric, charcoal, stained glass and more will be on display, with some pieces available for purchase. The event will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, and from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, on the third floor of the McAdams Building, 31 E. High St.

HOMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS, a tour of five Springfield homes will be held from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, and a moonlight tour of one Springfield home from 5-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 or Sunday, Dec. 2. Advance tickets $15; $20 at the door. Proceeds benefit the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. For information call 325-8100.

• THE SPRINGFIELD MUSEUM OF ART will hold its Fifth Annual Holiday Open House from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2. The event is free and will feature a medley of holiday activities. The museum will be decorated inside and out, with vintage holiday decor and twinkling lights. Santa will be there for pictures.

• AN ALTERNATIVE CHRISTMAS MARKET will take place from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Proceeds will help others in the community. Read more ...

• THE SPRINGFIELD MUSEUM OF ART continues its NASA Aerospace Design Exhibit through Dec. 16. Admission $3. At 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, Associate Professor of Physics Dan Fleisch will lead free tours of Wittenberg's Weaver Observatory as part of the programming.

• A HOLIDAY EVENING with the Arts will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Springfield's South High School. The open house celebration will offer art, food and music of the students. Tickets are $10 and may be reserved or purchased by calling 328-2027. Proceeds will be donated to the Clark County Food Bank.

• GATHER IN FELLOWSHIP at a Reading of Shorts: Short Poetry, Short Stories, Short Essays of 3-5 minutes or less from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Un Mundo. Contact ) Come in celebration as we reach the end of the semester... Come in the joy of gathering in the warmth of fellowship...
