
GLENN LEEVER '07 recently began work as a family development volunteer with the Peace Corps in Costa Rica. His work will involve helping families make a better life for their children, organizing recreational activities and teaching computer skills to children and teens.
WILLIAM F. DENKEWALTER '92 will run for the seat currently held by Judge John Newlin of the Champaign County Common Pleas Court in Urbana, Ohio. Newlin has said he will not run for re-election when his term expires. Both seats will be open in the November 2008 general election.
STEVE IANNARINO ’87 plans to run for mayor in Huntersville, North Carolina.
SANDY DUKAT '94 was interviewed for an article titled "Dukat to Climb for Scholarships," which appeared on CantonRep.com, July 8. The article discussed Dukat's plans to travel with three other disabled women to Tanzania in September and climb Mount Kilimanjaro as a fundraiser for a scholarship fund that benefits female athletes with disabilities. JEFF SMITH '96 AND RICHELE SHEPARD '96 and their investment in Springfield housing were the topic of an article titled "Couple Do Their Part to Revitalize Springfield," which appeared in the Springfield News-Sun, July 9. The couple has acquired two Victorian houses and an apartment complex in the South Fountain Preservation area of the city.
PAMELA GOETTING '82' has been promoted to vice president and private banking manager in Northern Kentucky at Fifth Third Bancorp. Goetting will oversee a team of 11 Northern Kentucky private bankers who provide high net worth individuals with investment management, banking, trust, insurance and financial planning services.
TRINITY RUFUS '07 was the subject of an article titled "BHS Grad Digs Egypt," which appeared in The Bellefontaine Examiner," July 7. The article discussed Rufus's travel to Egypt to participate in a month-long archaeological dig. Read more ...
