• PACO LABRADOR, volleyball coach, created a link to a short slide show of the Wittenberg Volleyball team in Spain. The 12-day trip in May and June included stops in Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, Logorno, Haro and Soria. "The Tigers were spectacular ambassadors for Wittenberg and the United States," Labrador reported. • MARGARET GOODMAN, associate professor of biology and director of biochemistry/molecular biology, ELIZABETH GEORGE, associate professor and chair of physics, JO WILSON, Paul Luther Keil Professor of Psychology, and NANCY SAKS, associate professor of computer science, taught at the Young Women's Summer Institute, July 15-21.

• DAVE FINSTER, professor of chemistry, CORWIN GEORGES, professor of theatre and dance, STEPHANIE LITTLE, associate professor of psychology, and JAY YODER, associate professor of biology, taught high-achieving middle-school age students during the 2007 WISE Academic Camp in June.

• ALAN MCEVOY, professor of sociology, KATHERINE ROWELL, adjunct instructor of sociology, and MARY JO ZEMBAR, professor and chair of sociology, taught classes for the Session I of the Summer Honors Institute July 1-6.


• DAVE FINSTER, professor of chemistry, DAN FLEISCH, associate professor of physics, and MARGARET GOODMAN, associate professor of biology and director of the biochemistry/molecular biology program, taught classes for Session II of the Summer Honors Institute, July 8-13.

• ED CHARNEY, associate professor of art, was interviewed for an article titled "Changes in Attitude," which appeared in The Columbus Dispatch, July 8. Charney discussed his current work including his recent trip to Italy with nine students. Charney will create landscapes for several exhibitions while on sabbatical fall semester.

• AMY LIVINGSTONE, associate professor of history, was featured in a National Geographic documentary. Read more ...



• DONNA PICKLESIMER, director of business services, wrote an article titled "Working Together, We Can Improve the City Schools," which appeared in the Springfield News-Sun "Your Turn," July 1.
