• AROUND THE HOLLOW returns to bi-weekly publication Friday, Aug. 17. The deadline for material is Tuesday, Aug. 13.

• THE SOUTH ENTRANCE OF THE BENHAM-PENCE STUDENT CENTER, near the traffic circle, will be closed Monday-Tuesday, July 30-31, for renovations. The ATM at that location will be unaccessible, but the ATM at HPER Center will be available.

• THE ANNUAL HIGH VOLTAGE MAINTENANCE will take place from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4. During the high-voltage system maintenance, there will be no electricity in any campus buildings. All computing and network resources will be unavailable from 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3. Most computing will be back online between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday. Contact the Solution Center at 525-3801, or e-mail solution, with any questions.

• THE END OF SUMMER PICNIC will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, in the green space across from Recitation and Koch Halls.

• BENJAMIN PRINCE SOCIETY MEMBERS, pictured at the Wittenberg Seal, enjoyed a campus tour led by Professor of History Thomas Taylor during the BPS Day festivities in June. In addition, President Emeritus William A. Kinnison gave a lecture on the historic heart of campus.

• SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ORGAN LESSONS are available to any enrolled Wittenberg student who has the essential piano keyboard skills. Contact the Department of Music chair in Krieg Hall for complete information.

• ANDREA FREDERICK '08 was recently named the recipient of the Chi Omega Elizabeth Carmichael Orman scholarship. Only five of the national level scholarships are awarded.

• A NEW LUTHERAN SCHOLAR-LEADER AWARD has been established to provide scholarship money for outstanding Lutheran students. Read more ...

• SUSAN CAIN, School of Community Education student. has been awarded a Triangle Club: Second Century Scholarship for the 2007-2008 academic year by the Alpha Sigma Lambda Adult Education Foundation Board. Selected from an outstanding group of candidates throughout the United States, the award is based on academic achievement, scholarship, and leadership.
