
FALL BREAK is Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 16-17, and most students will leave campus Friday, Oct. 13. The Rosencrans Fitness Center will be open from 9 a.m.-8 p.m., thanks to international students who have agreed to work.
THE DOCTOR IS IN will present the second in a free public lecture series at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 105 Shouvlin Center. "Couch Potato, a Guide to Exercise" is the title of the presentation.
THE GARDEN CLUB will meet at noon Wednesday, Oct. 18, Alumni Room, Benham-Pence Student Center. Alexandra Kimball, coordinator for residence life, will share a "Floral Punch Craft" using fall colors. All are welcome, and a $2 fee will be collected.
THE FALL 2006 ISSUE OF MATERIAL CULTURE: The Journal of the Pioneer America Society was recently published. The journal is edited by Artimus Keiffer, assistant professor of geography, and Dani Nicholson '07 was technical assistant for the issue. Carol Kneisley, coordinator for publications, has served as technical adviser for the last four years and was recognized at the 38th annual Pioneer America Society conference on Oct. 6. Kneisley also contributed "Postcards from Cuba," which appear in the issue.

will be shown at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, Ness Family Auditorium. The film is in support of National Breast Cancer month.
ENTREPRENEURIAL BUSINESS AWARD NOMINATIONS will be accepted until Wednesday, Nov. 1. The business must be located in Clark or Champaign County, must have been in operation for at least three years, and employ a successful innovative or distinctive business practice. Nominations may be made at the EBA 2007 Web site, by calling (937) 327-7910, by e-mailing WittCAM, or by using a nomination form printed each Sunday in October in the Springfield News Sun.
A HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL in celebration of Make a Difference Day will be held from 9:30 a.m.-noon, basement of the Benham-Pence Student Center. Wittenberg students will host children, ages 3-12, of the community, faculty and staff, for Halloween activities. Register on the Community Service Office Web site, or by calling the office at 327-7523. The registration deadline is Oct. 20.
