• JACK OSBUN, professor emeritus of art, will have his recent work on exhibit at The Gallery at Ambience, 320 W. Main St., Springfield, Ohio. An opening reception will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30. The exhibit will also include works by Patrick Jewell '90 and Mary Jo McClain '93.

reed martinez-saenz• DON REED, professor of philosophy and department chair, and MIGUEL MARTINEZ-SAENZ, assistant professor of philosophy, will present "Global Justice: Wittenberg's Responsibility for Developing Global Citizens" at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 315 Hollenbeck Hall.

• JOHN FENIMORE, adjunct instructor of management, and LOWELL STOCKSTILL, professor of management, will present "Dressing for Success," one of the WHRMA Job Prep Series, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 305 Carnegie Hall.

• TERRY OTTEN, professor emeritus of English, will present "Arthur Miller's Legacy," at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, Ness Family Auditorium.


• CAROL J. TODD, adjunct instructor of music, will conduct the Wittenberg Singers in concert at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, Weaver Chapel.



• CAROLYN PERKINS, associate vice president for student development and dean of students, received an award through the Leadership Grant for Higher Education Professionals from The Spelman & Johnson Group.

• LIN ERICKSON, director of government, corporate and foundations relations, was the subject of an article titled "Wittenberg First Lady to Represent School," which appeared in the Springfield News-Sun, Oct. 27.

• DAN FLEISCH, associate professor of physics, was the subject of an article titled "Fleisching out a Genius," which appeared in the Springfield News-Sun, Oct. 23. The article discussed Fleisch's research on Scottish scientist James Clerk Maxwell, who determined the speed of light and identified radio waves and x-rays among other things. Fleisch is writing a book about Maxwell.

• ROBERT WELKER, professor of education, director of Program Approval and director of Wittenberg Teacher Institute, led a committee of Springfield City Schools staff, community members and students in preparing a vision statement for the new Springfield High School. The document provides a comprehensive list of value statements that should drive school operations, and it is available on the districts' Web site.

• TOM MARTIN, professor of HFS, was presented the 1,750-Hour Volunteer Service Award by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft during a special ceremony in Columbus on Oct. 7.


• DAVID NIBERT, professor of sociology, wrote an article titled "WTO Treaties Play Tricks on Democratic Countries," which appeared in the Springfield News-Sun, Oct. 24.
