• HALLOWEEN STORYTELLERS Harold and Jonatha Wright, Eric James Wolf and Shane Dicky will be performing a scary storytelling event at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at the Clifton Opera House. The Victorian opera house is located at the corner of Route 343 and Clay Street in Clifton, Ohio. Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 or under, and $10 for families. A guardian must accompany children.

• THE TOULMIN STATUE UNVEILING AND DEDICATION will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, in downtown Springfield. Springfield's newest public art work, the Harry A. Toulmin Sr. Memorial Sculpture, is a work in bronze by artist Michael Major. This event celebrates the 100th anniversary of the successful patent, developed by Toulmin, for the Wright Brother's Flying Machine.

• THE SPRINGFIELD SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA will open the 2006-2007 season at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Clark State Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $27 to $46, and student discounts are from $15. Wittenberg music faculty are well represented in the orchestra.

• THE PROJECT WOMAN 32ND ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION will be held from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Clark County Heritage Center. The cost is $30 per person, $50 per couple or $250 to sponsor a table of 10. The evening will include a light buffet and silent auction. For more information, contact Project Woman at (937) 328-5308. All proceeds benefit the children's programming at Project Woman.

• THE 2006 HERITAGE FESTIVAL will be held from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Clark County Heritage Center parking lot. General admission $5.

•  THE WESTCOTT HOUSE will celebrate the one-year anniversary of its restoration with free family activities in the garden from 12-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.
