International Student Picnic
Wittenberg’s international students enjoyed food and games with their host families at the C.J. Brown Dam & Reservoir on Sept. 24.
“I always look forward to this picnic,” said Kantaro Suzuki ’08, from Tokyo, Japan.
Members of the Springfield community and Wittenberg faculty and staff volunteer every year to be host parents of one or more international students. Host families provide help and guidance to the students during their stay at Wittenberg.
The picnic is an annual event organized by the Office of International Education, which provides food and transportation. Host families also bring food to share. It is a great opportunity for all of the international students to get together and meet each other’s host families.
“It is always a lot of fun, and people always play games after the picnic,” said Karell Pellé ’07 from Nairobi, Kenya.
