• TIEMPO LIBRE, a Latino band from Miami, performs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 4, Clark State Performing Arts Center. The group's concerts include Latin-jazz, ‘timba’, son, merengue and salsa. • THE FIRST ANNUAL GARDEN FLING, presented by the Master Gardeners of Clark County & OSU Extension of Clark County, runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, April 5, Northeastern High School, 1480 Bowman Road. Topics include "Spring Bulbs in the Garden," "Rain Gardens-Where, Why, & How," " Container Design," " Decorating Leaf Castings," "Herbs in the Culinary Garden," "Home Lawn Care Basics" and "Woodland Wildflowers." Former Ohio First Lady Hope Taft will talk about the Ohio Governor’s Residence & Heritage Garden Garden. Admission is $7. • INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK (IFN) holds a fundraising Soup and Salad Bar Dinner from 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 18, First Lutheran Church, 30 S. Wittenberg Ave. The menu will include chili and vegetable soup provided by Texas Roadhouse, homemade chicken soup and desserts. The cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 children under 12 and free for children five and under. Money raised will allow IFN to serve more of Springfield's homeless and keep them at its High Street location overnight. Advance tickets are available from Rick Incorvati.

THE SPRINGFIELD MUSEUM OF ART presents "Edna Boies Hopkins: Woodblock Prints: Strong in Character, Colorful in Expression," an exhibition of approximately 60 works of Hopkins, a printmaker in the early modernist time, through June 1. Admission is $5 for non-members.

THE WESTCOTT HOUSE, continues its Frank Lloyd Wright's "Samara House: Realization of a Usonian Dream" through Sunday, April 20. The exhibit features the work of America’s most celebrated architect through an exciting collection of drawings depicting many of Wright’s most famous buildings as well as furnishings, textiles and other items designed for Samara, one of the late Usonian style homes by Wright.

THE SPRINGFIELD SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA presents "Side by Side: Springfield Symphony Orchestra and the Springfield Youth Symphony" at 3 pm, Sunday, April 6, Kuss Auditorium, Clark State Performing Arts Center. The cost is $8 for adults and $3 for students.

THE CLARK COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY rescheduled its "Night at the Museum" event at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at the Heritage Center, 117 S. Fountain Ave. The cost is $8 for adults, $5 for members, and $3 for children and students under 18.

THE CLARK COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY presents "The Wrights of Passage - Wright Brothers Story Performance," at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, to celebrate the 2003 100th anniversary of the Wright Brothers first powered flight in North Carolina. Call (937) 324-0657 for more information.  

• CLARK COUNTY COMMUNITY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY and Interfaith Hospitality Network present Dee Miller, Springfield South High graduate and wide receiver for the Ohio State University, as keynote speaker during a fundraising event from 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Maiden Lane Church of God. 1201 Maiden Lane. Call (937) 325-2514 to make reservations. Admission is complimentary as all the proceeds will go to benefit families in our community.
