CHRISTOPHER DURRENBERGER, associate professor of music, will give a piano recital of Brahms’ "F minor piano sonata" and Mussorgsky’s "Pictures at an Exhibition" at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23, at Christ Episcopal Church, 409 E. High St., Springfield. "Pictures at an Exhibition" will be accompanied by a multi-media presentation of artwork that inspired this monumental work. Durrenberger will also discuss each piece before playing. A reception will follow the recital.

DAVID SCHUBERT, professor of music and department chair, baritone, accompanied by Diane Slagle, piano, presents a faculty artist recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, Krieg Hall. Schubert will perform art songs from the 19th and 20th centuries, including Schumann's "Dichterliebe" of the Romantic era, Francis Poulenc's "Le bestiaire" and Gerald Finzi's "Let Us Garlands Bring."

DONALD BUSAROW, professor of music, university organist and director of the Wittenberg Choir, leaves with the choir for its annual Spring Concert Tour, which begins at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 29, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Phoenix, Ariz. The choir then travels to southern California for eight more concerts before returning to campus to present its annual home concert at 8 p.m., Friday, March 14, in Weaver Chapel. Read more ...
