• TOM STAFFORD '76 and TIM BENNETT '78 perform with the Wittenberg Faculty Rock Ensemble & Entourage (Witt FREE). The band will present its Fourth Annual Welcome Back Concert from 8-10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, Post 95.

• MARK HEEG '84, piano, presents a masterclass at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30. Heeg will also give a recital at 7:30 p.m. featuring music by Schubert, Liszt and Granados, as well as short Liszt transcriptions of works by Chopin and Schumann. Both events will be held in Krieg Hall. Heeg is assistant professor of piano at Eastern Mediterranean University in northern Cyprus, and he has performed as a soloist in the United States, Germany, Austria, Ukraine, Egypt and Japan.

• FRED MITCHELL '69 has written a book with Chicago Bears Hall of Fame running back Gale Sayers titled Sayers: My Life And Times. Published by Triumph Books, it is available online through Barnes & Noble or Amazon.com. Mitchell, a veteran sports columnist with the Chicago Tribune who has written seven books, has another one scheduled for release in April on Chicago Cubs Hall of Fame slugger Billy Williams.

• PETER KLUGE '84, ALEX BEEKMAN '99 and DAN STROEH '01 were interviewed for an interactive feature on the Wittenberg Web site. The feature discusses Professor of Theatre and Dance Steve Reynolds and his recent award: The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) 2008 Kennedy Center Gold Medallion.
