KEITH DOUBT, professor of sociology and department chair, held a summer course that started with classroom sessions on campus for one week before he traveled to Sarajevo with students Kate Stoverock and Alyssa McEachran. They prepared for the trip by reading and discussing three textbooks: Sarajevo: The Tourist-Historic Guide by Majo Dizdar, Sarajevo: A Biography by Robert Donia, and Sarajevo: A Walker's Guide, written by William Tribe before the 1984 Winter Olympics in the city. They also watched such recent post-war films about the war in Bosnia as Remake; Hop, Skip and Jump; and 10 Minutes.

DAN FLEISCH, associate professor of physics, wrote A Student's Guide to Maxwell's Equations, which has become a sales phenomenon on amazon.com. The book's chapters give an expanded view of each equation and explain the meaning of each symbol. The approach has worked – amazon.com has run out of stock several times and sales rankings have climbed as high as 2,900. Even more impressively, the book became the No. 1 best seller of all books in the area of Waves and Mechanics and No. 16 of all the Physics books sold. Read more ... SHIH-MING LI CHANG, associate professor of theatre and dance, CORWIN GEORGES, professor of theatre and dance, and JOHN FENIMORE, adjunct assistant professor of management and department chair, taught classes for the 2008 WISE Academic Camp in June. The summer residential program for high achieving middle school children celebrated its 22nd year at Wittenberg.
