• NANCY MCHUGH, associate professor of philosophy, has asked for volunteers to help at the third annual Reformation Run, which begins at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4. E-mail McHugh to work at the registration table, monitor the course or help at the finish line.

• STEVEN REYNOLDS, professor of theatre and dance and director of general education, continues his service as the national playwriting program chair for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) Region III, which includes Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois. • DANIEL KAZEZ (left), professor of music, cello, will be joined by DAVID SCHUBERT, professor of music and department chair, and RICHARD YORK, adjunct instructor of clarinet, at his annual Faculty Artist Recital, which begins at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, Krieg Hall. Music majors Rhea Jones-Price '10, piano, Kay Kulma '09, soprano, Amanda Marenchin '10, violin, Vincent Pontius '11, viola and Ben Williams '10, oboe, will also participate. Read more...

• TRUDY FABER, professor of music, was mentioned in an article titled "Organ Is a Pipe Dream Come True at All Saints," which appeared in This Week Community Newspapers Oct. 12. The article discussed the dedication of the new, hand-crafted Kegg organ, which will be dedicated Oct. 14, at the All Saints Lutheran Church in Dublin. Faber, an internationally acclaimed organist/harpsichordist, will present a recital at 4 p.m. as part of the dedication celebrations.

• ALAN MCEVOY, professor of sociology, was interviewed for an article titled "Failing Grade," which appeared in Corporate Counsel, Oct. 1. The article discussed the federal Clery Act and colleges' responsibility to issue a warning when a crime threatens campus safety. McEvoy is an expert on school violence. Read more ...

• YU BIN, professor of political science, wrote an article titled "Crouching Alliance, Hidden Angst?" which appeared in YaleGlobal Online, Oct. 11. The article discussed the possibility of Russia and China forming a military alliance following a recent military exercise by members of The Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
