THE THIRD ANNUAL REFORMATION RUN begins at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, near Wittenberg's Weaver Chapel. Funds raised will support the Second Harvest Food Pantry, which serves Clark, Logan and Champaign counties. All participants are encouraged to show additional support by bringing a donation of canned food. Pre-registration must be postmarked no later than Oct. 26. THE NATIONAL HAZING HOTLINE, a caller-identity-protected line, was recently established by a group of national fraternities and sororities. Alpha Delta Pi, Chi Omega, Gamma Phi Beta, Delta Sigma Phi, Delta Tau Delta, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Gamma Delta and Phi Kappa Psi are among the 20 national groups that founded the project. Groups not part of the founding group will also be notified if they are implicated in a report received on the hotline. FUTURE JOBS, an employer-driven program that is the first of its kind in Ohio, was announced during a news conference in Bayley Auditorium, Sept. 27. The program could become a model for other communities where there is a mismatch between the available workforce and job openings requiring technical or scientific education. DALE WILLIAMS '08 was mentioned in an article titled "Study: More Low-income Families Had Foreclosures," which appeared in the Springfield News-Sun, Oct. 1. The article discussed Williams' internship for the Clark County Department of Job and Family Services. Williams was hired to research foreclosures and look for commonalities or causes. He analyzed public records relating to 535 Clark County foreclosures that went to a sheriff's sale and found that many adjustable mortgages in Clark County defaulted in less than two years with a high concentration in low income or minority neighborhoods.
