• VICKI HOOPER '78, SCOTT NESS '01, SHANNON O'KEEFE '01, KENNY POPE '99 AND MARC WEST '87 have been named new members of the Alumni Board.

• NANCY ATKINS JOY '81 will be on campus Friday, Sept. 21. She will present "Breathing for Wind Players: A Breathing Gym."

• ALLAN SETTER '88 will be on campus as the management department's Executive-in-Residence. He will speak at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, Bayley Auditorium. Setter will discuss how Kroger has become successful against Wal-Mart, and he will share tips on how students can learn from Kroger’s experience.

• VIRGINIA WEYGANDT '88, director of collections, Clark County Historical Society, will give a talk titled "Preservation of Family Heirlooms" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, Crabill Discovery Hall of the Clark County Heritage Center.

• U.S. DISTRICT JUDGE GREGORY FROST '71 was mentioned in an article titled "Judge Allows Five More Death Row Inmates to Fight Injection Process," which appeared in The Plain Dealer, Sept. 12. The article discussed a lawsuit that claims Ohio's lethal injection procedure amounts to unconstitutional cruel and unusual punishment. Read more ...

• JOHN LOFTIS '95 was featured in an article titled "Kayak Fan Has Creek Plan," which appeared in the Springfield News-Sun, Sept. 10.

• REV. J. LINDSAY SHANER '71 was installed as pastor at Hope Lutheran Church near Hamler, Ohio, during a special service Sept. 2. Read more ...

• DENNIS BRAZIEL '83 watched his sons play football together for the first time since high school on Edwards-Maurer Field, Sept. 1. An article titled "Witt Twins Long Comeback Ends in Season Opener," which appeared in the Springfield News-Sun, Sept. 10. The article discussed Dennis's and Derrick's anterior cruciate ligament injuries a month apart last year and their return to play in Wittenberg's season opener against Capital. Read more ...

• DR. TIM KREMCHEK '81 was also mentioned in the article about the Braziel twins' injuries. As the Tigers' orthopedic surgeon, he performed both knee surgeries. Kremchek is also medical director for the Cincinnati Reds.
