
TRUDY FABER, professor of music, will present an organ and harpsichord recital at St. Bede's Episcopal Church, Decatur, Ga., on Sept. 23. The recital is part of the church's 10th anniversary celebration, and six years ago, Faber dedicated the newly acquired Richard Fowkes organ on which she will be performing. On Friday, Sept. 22, she has been invited as guest lecturer/demonstrator for a graduate level course "Hymn Playing and Improvisation" at Emory University, Atlanta, Ga., where she will also lead a discussion on harpsichord literature and Baroque ornamentation.
MATTHEW "MAC" MCCLELLAND, associate professor of English, will present a reading of works in progress at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, Ness Family Auditorium.
ALAN MCEVOY, professor of sociology, will give a gallery talk at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, Kissell Auditorium, Koch Hall. McEvoy has an exhibit titled "Spaces Within Light: Digital Photographs by Alan McEvoy" through Friday, Oct. 5, in the Thompson Gallery, Koch Hall.
TAMMY PROCTOR, associate professor of history, will present a talk titled
"The Great War and the Evolution of the Civilian Contractor" at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, Bayley Auditorium. The program is the second of the Cynthia F. Behrman Colloquium Series in History Fall 2007: Peace and Conflict.
LOWELL MONKE, assistant professor of education, was quoted in an article titled "A Web of Make-believe: Company's Site Rapidly Grows to Fifth-hottest," which appeared in the Palm Beach Post, Sept. 16. The article discussed the success of online games for children. Monke is a member of the board of Alliance for Childhood, which contends that video games and other computer play generally hurts kids' creativity.


CARL LONEY, chief of police/security, MAUREEN MASSARO, associate vice president of human resources, and RYAN MAURER, director of news services and sports information, were quoted in an article titled "Wittenberg to Offer Emergency Cell Texting," which appeared in the Springfield News-Sun, Sept. 19. The article discussed the new e2Campus service that allows university officials to transmit a message to thousands of cell phones in a matter of minutes.
ED CHARNEY, associate professor of art, has 16 new paintings on exhibit at A Muse Gallery, Grandview Heights, Ohio. Charney also has five landscapes in a Contemporary Ohio Landscape Exhibit at The Schumacher Gallery, at Capital University. Read more ...
