• THE CHI OMEGA SORORITY raised $1,300 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation at its Wing Dinner Event, and the members wish to thank all those who came to support their efforts.

• A BREATHING WORKSHOP for wind players will be conducted by Nancy Atkins Joy '81 at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 302 Krieg Hall. Joy is horn professor at New Mexico State University (NMSU), principal horn of the Las Cruces Symphony at NMSU, and second horn of the El Paso Symphony Orchestra and El Paso Opera Company.

FUDDY MEERS, written by David Lindsey-Abaire and directed by Rayna Long '08, is the first studio stage production of the academic year. Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21-22, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, in Blair Hall Theatre. Admission is free. Read more ...

A FALL LECTURE SERIES presented by The Westcott House Foundation will be held on campus in Bayley Auditorium, Barbara Deer Kuss Science Center. Robin Vande Zande, assistant professor and coordinator of art education, Kent State University, will present the first lecture titled "Chairs, Fashion and Advertisements: The Influence of Design on Children," which will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21. • THE ANNUAL WITTENBERG CROPWalk will begin with sign-in at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at the stage on Alumni Way. Funds raised will fight hunger through Church World Service. Alpha Lambda Delta is sponsoring President Mark H. Erickson's participation in the event. Read more ...

• HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH is being celebrated with lunches that feature cuisine from Mexico, Central America and South America. Dining Services plans to include the items on Wednesdays through Oct. 15 in the CDR.

• THE ART DEPARTMENT WILL OFFER FIVE shows during fall semester. Read more ...

• A TEXT MESSAGING ALERT SYSTEM was recently implemented by the university. The efforts to extend the university's communications capabilities are part of a wider campus safety plan. Read more ...

• "A 3 ON 3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT" will be hosted by the Fiji's on Sunday, Sept. 23, 20 W. Ferncliff Place. All are welcome.

• WITTENBERG'S GREEK LIFE welcomed 51 new members into sororities and fraternities. Membership recruitment for sophomore, juniors and seniors was held from Sept. 9-15. So far 22 women and 29 men have been added to Witt’s Greek community. Chapters may continue to offer bids throughout the semester.

• FAMILY WEEKEND will be held Friday-Sunday, Sept. 28-30. A full schedule of events are planned including the New Student Fall Showcase 2007 at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Blair Hall Theatre. The program, presented by the theatre and dance department, features Wittenberg's newest thespians and entertainers, and is directed by John Cantrell, adjunct instructor of languages.

• THE WITTENBERG CHOIR will present a variety show at 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Sept. 28-29, 300 Krieg Hall. Admission charged.

• "A MUSICAL CELEBRATION of the Life of Dr. Thomas A. Kennedy Jr." will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, Weaver Chapel.

• A GREEK LIFE PANEL with lunch for parents and their students will be held Saturday, Sept. 29.

• "SPACES WITHIN LIGHT," an exhibition of digital photography by Alan McEvoy, professor of sociology, is currently on display in the Thompson Gallery, Koch Hall. At 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, McEvoy will give a lecture/gallery talk in Kissell Auditorium. A reception will follow the lecture. The gallery is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, and the exhibit will be up until Wednesday, Oct. 10.

• AN M & M RECITAL will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, Krieg Hall. The monthly musical event will include performances by music students and faculty members.

• GREEK WEEK ACTIVITIES will be held Tuesday-Saturday, Oct. 2-6. A LipSync Contest will be held on Friday, Oct. 5.

• DENIM DAY will be held Friday, Oct. 5. An annual part of Delta Gamma’s Breast Cancer Awareness activities, members of the Wittenberg community are asked to wear denim.
