• ALAN MCEVOY, professor of sociology, will have an exhibit of photographs titled "Spaces Within Light: Digital Photographs by Alan McEvoy" from Monday, Sept. 10, through Friday, Oct. 5, in the Thompson Gallery, Koch Hall. He will also present a gallery lecture, which will be scheduled soon.


• ED CHARNEY, associate professor of art, has 16 new paintings on exhibit at A Muse Gallery, Grandview Heights, Ohio. Charney also has five landscapes in a Contemporary Ohio Landscape Exhibit at The Schumacher Gallery, at Capital University. Read more ...


• JOHN CANTRELL, adjunct instructor of languages, will direct the New Student Showcase at 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Sept. 28-29, Blair Hall.



• SARAH JUREWICZ '98 has been named interim women's head basketball coach. Read more ...




• BRYAN CRISP AND TIM OLT joined the music faculty fall semester. Crisp will tech trumpet, and Olt will teach tuba.



• WARREN COPELAND, professor of religion, director of urban studies and mayor of Springfield, was quoted in an article titled "Onward Christian Soldiers," which appeared in the Springfield News-Sun, Sept. 6. The article discussed the 150-man Unity Fellowship Prayer March and hour-long prayer service, an initiative aimed at ending violence and restoring peace in the community. "It's really important to pull together and witness for peace in the community," Copeland said.

• JACK MANN, professor of art, created the original works for the 2007-2008 Witt Series materials.
