
Wittenberg University is seeking an Assistant Professor (pending approval) for a Tenure-track position in photography and computer imaging. Start date of August 2008. Primary duties include a 3-3 teaching schedule, teaching entry level and advanced sections in photography and visual communication, artistic activity, participation in University governance, and engagement with the liberal arts curriculum of the University. The Department is especially interested in a fine artist who may be able to contribute to the following areas: computer graphics applications and new media, curriculum development within the Visual Communication area, contemporary topics in photography, leadership in developing the digital photography component of the curriculum, first-year student seminar courses. Additional duties include teaching graphic design and oversight of the computer and photography labs.
REQUIREMENTS
MFA in Photography or Visual Communication required. Must have teaching experience beyond TA level and have experience with the liberal arts. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence, advising and mentoring of students, should have an active professional research record, and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues. Must have experience with black/white wet lab development. Must demonstrate extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
