Assistant Professor, Computer Science red bar

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applicants to fill a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level starting August 2009.  Responsibilities include teaching the usual range of undergraduate computer science courses.  Expertise in software engineering will be considered a plus. Position offers opportunities for collaboration with the Air Force Research Laboratory at nearby Wright-Patterson AFB, the Ohio Supercomputer Center and high-tech firms at NextEdge Technology Park.  All faculty members advise undergraduates, assist in curriculum development, and fulfill other departmental and university responsibilities. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching in the liberal arts and sciences context, the ability to involve undergraduates in research, and a Ph.D. in an appropriate field. 

The department offers B.A. and B.S degrees in Computer Science as well as minors in Computer Science and Computational Science.
