Wittenberg University, an NCATE accredited institution, has a visiting faculty position in the department of education for instruction in middle school/science education.  We are seeking a colleague who shares our commitment to preparing teachers as future leaders who are dedicated to intellectual inquiry and wholeness of person.  Consistent with our liberal arts mission, we challenge students to become global citizens, to discover their callings, and to lead personal, professional, and civic lives of creativity, service, compassion, and integrity.  

 

The position includes teaching science methods courses for elementary, middle school, and secondary teachers, and courses in middle school curriculum, instruction and methods.  Other opportunities include working in the undergraduate and master’s programs, advising students, and supervising field experiences and student teaching. There are significant opportunities for involvement in school and community-based projects and partnerships, and service on department and university committees.

The doctorate in science education/curriculum and instruction is preferred.  ABD considered for the initial appointment at the Instructor level.  Candidates must have earned certification or licensure and a minimum of three years teaching experience at appropriate grade levels and subject areas.
