                           International Orientation Assistants 2007-08


 

Lindsay Dollinger ’09 is a Spanish major with minors in Education and Management. Her family has been hosting international students ever since she was a freshman in high school and this helped her learn more not about other cultures but also get a deeper insight into her own culture. Lindsay has visited France, Mexico, England and Canada and she speaks Spanish and German.

Alyssa McEachran ’08 is a Sociology major with a Religion minor. She has been to Cyprus, Greece, Turkey and France. She speaks French, Turkish and Greek. Last year, Alyssa studied abroad in Cyprus and the experience gave her a unique glimpse into a different society and culture. She loves meeting people from different cultural backgrounds and jumped at the chance to be an IOA.

Louise Yuru Niu ’10 is a Physics major and Math minor from China. An international student herself, she is really grateful for all the help she got from her IOA’s and that they were her first group of friends when she arrived at Wittenberg. Having had firsthand experience of how helpful the IOA's were for new internationals; Louise wants to complete the circle and help new international students fit into life at Wittenberg.

Erik Lindsjo ‘08 is from Sweden and is majoring in Political Science. He wanted to be an IOA because not only did he want to meet the new international students, but also because he wanted to help them adapt to Wittenberg. When he is not working at the Office of International Education, Erik can be contacted through smoke signals and/or email.

Melissa Cederqvist ’10 is a Chemistry/Management major from Sweden. Like the rest of our IOA's, she loves meeting new people from different cultures and helping them adapt to life at Wittenberg. She speaks Swedish, Spanish and German.

Erik Poldemann ’09 is a Biology major and he speaks fluent Estonian and French. He loves meeting new people and learning about different cultures. Erik wanted to be an IOA in order to help the new international students adjust to life at Wittenberg.

Barbara Hartley ’10 is a Biology major and has lived in France, Kazakhstan, Germany and Russia. She loves meeting people from varied cultures and wants to help the new internationals adapt to life at Wittenberg.
