Presidential Search Committee Members
The Wittenberg presidential search committee will hold its initial meeting July 9, 2004, in Columbus, OH, Ingrid S. Stafford, chair of Wittenberg’s board of directors, has announced. She will chair the committee.
 | Stafford, ’75, is associate vice president for finance and controller at Northwestern University. Actively involved in numerous civic projects in Evanston, IL, she received its Chamber of Commerce Community Leader of the Year Award in 2000. During the same year she also earned the Daniel D. Robinson Award of the National Association of College and University Business Officers in recognition of her distinguished contribution to accounting policy in higher education. Stafford serves on the audit committee of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. |

 | David L. Boyle, ’69, of Greenwich, CT, is vice chair of Ambac Financial Group in New York City. He was previously employed by Citibank for 22 years. He also chairs the Association of Financial Guaranty Insurers. |
 | Glenn W. Collier, partner and member of the executive committee of Martin, Browne, Hull & Harper, a Springfield law firm, was a member of the Ohio State Bar Association Board of Governors from 1995-1998 and past chair of the Association’s Continuing Legal Education Advisory Committee. He serves on numerous local boards including those of the Springfield-Clark County Chamber of Commerce. |
 | Dr. William B. Fisher, ’64, is co-director of the cancer program at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. He also serves as a clinical professor of medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He is vice chair of the Hoosier Oncology Group, a cancer research organization, and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He was inducted into Wittenberg’s Athletic Hall of Honor in 1990. |
 | The Rev. Dale R. Giffin, ’71, is senior pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Youngstown, OH. He received an honorary doctor of divinity degree from Wittenberg in 1995. He has been involved in numerous church-related activities including the Ecumenical Telecommunications Coalition of Northeast Ohio, the Synod Council, and the Lutheran Video Pilot Project. He formerly chaired the Ohio Synod Professional Leadership Unit on Candidacy. |
 | David U. Gogol, ’73, is president of B & D Sagamore, a government affairs consulting company in Washington, D. C. His wide-ranging public service work includes that as director of budget for New Haven, CT, as associate city representative for the National League of Cities, as assistant to the chair of the U. S. Senate Housing Subcommittee, as legislative director to Senator Richard G. Lugar of Indiana, and as transition director for Mayor Steve Goldsmith of Indianapolis. |
 | Dr. Elizabeth A. Hunter, ’69, of Fairfield, OH, was recently professor of reading at the College of Mount Saint Joseph after serving thirty years as a teacher, librarian, and principal. She sits on the board of trustees of the controlling company of her family’s financial institutions. She is also the Butler County representative on the Southwest Ohio Council of Aging. |
 | Milton O. Thompson, ’76, an attorney, is president and chief executive officer of Grand Slam Companies, a sports, entertainment, and recreation management firm in Indianapolis, IN. He is a certified contract advisory with the NFL and NBA Players Association and board member of the Indianapolis Indians baseball club. His many involvements in the community range from hosting a weekly television program to serving as president of the Indianapolis Foundation. |
Representing the faculty on the committee are three professors:
 | Dr. Robin L. Inboden chairs the Department of English. She formerly directed Wittenberg’s honors and women’s programs. She is a specialist in Victorian literature, the 19th century British novel, and British and American women’s literature. |
 | Dr. Timothy L. Lewis chairs the Department of Biology. He teaches general biology, ecology, and environmental biology. He has developed numerous field ecology courses in Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, and the Bahamas. |
 | Dr. Josephine F. Wilson holds the Paul Luther Keil endowed chair in psychology. Former chair of the department, she teaches behavioral neuroscience, health psychology, psychology of women, and sensation and perception, among other topics. She has garnered numerous grants that have resulted in published research. |

 | Representing the staff is Lehan Peters, ’03, of Springfield, OH. Having served in several capacities in the university’s advancement and business offices, she now directs the Wittenberg Fund. |
 | Representing the Alumni Board is David A. Brown, '88, an attorney with the Columbus, OH, firm of Cooper and Elliott. |
 | Representing the student body is Bruce Robinson, a junior from Cincinnati, OH. Participant in numerous activities on campus, he serves as president of Concerned Black Students. |
