English
Reading and writing have always been at the center of a liberal arts education, and the practice you get in these essential skills as an English major will serve you well in almost any career. As you develop these skills, you will be asked to apply them to the exploration and examination of great literature. Although strong writing and analytical skills will make you marketable to many kinds of employers and graduate programs, a writing minor or English major with a concentration in writing can help you discover and develop your creative talents, too. Likewise, the English major with honors allows you to hone your research and organizational skills as you develop and write a thesis on an individualized project. If you want to teach in the middle and/or high school level, you need to achieve certification through Wittenberg's Education Department. However you shape your English major, it will prepare you with the analytical and problem-solving skills you need in the career you select. Degrees offered
