Marine Science
Are you interested in marine biology or freshwater ecology? You're not alone. As environmental issues take the lead on personal, national, and global agendas, the marine and aquatic sciences are becoming increasingly popular and fascinating. Wittenberg's Biology Department continues to meet this rising interest. The strength of our Marine Science Program comes from the many opportunities for field study. Every class involves learning by doing. This practical, hands-on experience often leads to independent studies and research projects with faculty members and has resulted in publishable research papers. Opportunities for field study go beyond the Wittenberg campus and local area. We offer student research opportunities, several off-campus field seminars during the summer, and we have cooperative agreements with Duke Universitys marine Laboratory. Our students graduate with extensive experience, which makes them very valuable to employers and graduate schools. Facilities
