Martin Luther Scholar-Leader Award

Wittenberg University is Springfield, Ohio has been related to the Lutheran Church since its founding in 1845. The Lutheran Scholar-Leader Award is one example of Wittenberg's commitment to recognize outstanding young Lutheran scholars and to provide them with the quality education they merit. Congregations can nominate a deserving student for a $68,000 scholarship to Wittenberg, one of the finest liberal arts universities in America.

The Martin Luther Scholar-Leader Award aims to:

• Educate leaders for our churches, communities and world
• Develop a sense of vocation in students
• Provide opportunities for student leadership development
• Encourage study and discussion of faith issues

   Nominating Process   

Requirements:

• Membership in Lutheran church
• 3.5 GPA (cumulative) or higher
• 50 awards will be made for the 2009-10 academic year.

Important dates:

• October 31 - Martin Luther Scholar Award Pastor/Congregation Nomination Form due to Wittenberg
• December 1 - Student applications to Wittenberg due
