More
than 400 students enroll in this program, engaging in a variety of learning
experiences - campus courses, field studies in distant places, independent
study and directed research projects, and internships. Credit loads
have ranged from 1 through 17, and the reasons for enrollment are as
varied as the students. Some are taking advantage of special courses
they cant fit into regular terms, some are using Summer credits
to stay on track for their four-year goal - or accelerating for a quicker
completion, and others are making up for missed credits. Whatever the
reason, Summer provides the unusual experience of intimate
learning (average class size around 10) in the intense mode of shorter terms.
Summer courses, whether Day or Evening, include the same total of cumulative
hours as regular semester courses, and almost all the instructors are
regular faculty. A Summer Deans List acknowledges high achievement
for both traditional and adult/non-traditional students.
Our Summer students include three classifications:
Wittenberg traditional students
Students from other schools (Transients)
Adult / Non-traditional students
