Students from other schools (Transients)
We hope you find the outline below helpful. We'll also be happy to send
you the Bulletin (SCE HOME for contacts). Enrollment in the Wittenberg
Summer Session requires that you be in good standing at your home school,
as verified by an authorized official there. You can use the application
from this Web site. Click
here for the Summer Session Transient Application.
Summer Tuition
The tuition for transients is the same as that for Wittenberg traditional
students: $452 per semester credit. This charge is equivalent to $303 per
quarter credit. Go to the Tuition Charges heading to see other charges.
Summer Incentive Grant Benefits for Transients
A special feature of the Summer is our Summer Incentive Grant(SIG),
with funding through Wittenberg SCE
(click here to download form). Eligibility includes you along with our
own traditional students. If you receive need-based aid during the regular
terms at your home school and your EFC (Expected Family Contribution - from
FAFSA analysis) is $15,000 or less, you should be eligible. SIG's come in
the following three levels, according to EFC:
| $159 per credit | EFC of $3800 or less |
| $100 per credit | EFC of $3801 - $8000 |
| $68 per credit | EFC of $8001- $15000 |
If you receive a SIG, your effective tuition for Wittenberg Summer credits is comparable to - or even less than - the tuition at a typical state university, and tuition is not due until the first few weeks of the semester. Cost is no reason to forego Wittenberg quality.
The charges for off-campus field study programs follow a direct-cost model, with only a modest relationship to tuition. Nevertheless, limited SIG's are available for these programs at the uniform rate of $37 per credit, for any of the EFC levels above.
The process is very simple: along with the Summer Transient Admission Application (see above - also included in the Bulletin), you will see a SIG application. Just return the completed SIG form together with a copy of one of the following: Student Aid Report (SAR), FAFSA analysis report, or your DRN number. (If you dont have one of these, get it from your Financial Aid Office.) We will notify you of your eligibility within a few days. And if you are SIG eligible, we will deduct from your charges the $40 you will have paid for your Admission fee.
