Imani Gospel Choir
President: Bradley Seymour, s09.bseymour
Adviser: Rachel Tune, Pastor to the University
Office Phone: 342-4782

Imani Gospel Choir was founded in 1990 by a group of dedicated African American students who were committed to establishing an outlet for students to express their spiritual beings in a way that was not found in any other musical organization on campus. Since its founding, the choir has traveled to different cities to minister the Gospel of Christ. Appropriately named IMANI, (Kishwahili word meaning "faith") this choir stands upon the belief that through faith in God, all things are possible. Each year, Imani continues to grow under the direction of a committed executive board and the divine leadership of God. In summary, we are an organization that is devoted to "Informing Many About the Name that Inspires."

Membership: Open to all students. Members are expected to attend practices that are held once a week.

Just Eve
President: Mary Lauren Malone, s08.mmalone
Adviser: Ann Bixel, Admission Counselor
Office Phone: 327-6320

Founded in 2001, Just Eve is a contemporary women’s a capella group that, although young, is making a name for itself on a national level. In 2003, Just Eve was one of 18 college a capella groups from the midwest selected to perform in the International Competition for Collegiate A Capella. Just Eve competed at Penn State University, and was the only all female group to compete at the site. The group typically performs their own arrangement of contemporary secular works as well as gospel music and hymns, for concerts, banquets, church services and other area events. The group also has at least one of its own concerts each semester. Auditions are held each fall for vocalists as well as vocal percussionists; and are open to any female student at Wittenberg University.

Pep Band
President: Jessica Tittl, s10.jtittl
Adviser: Brandon Jones, Assistant Professor of Music
Office Phone:

Pep Band is a student run group that plays at all home football and basketball games. This group is about having fun with music. Members get to choose the songs that they wish to play, and also have many opportunities to help lead the band. Pep Band is also a fun social group that has many pre-game get-togethers and plans to take road trips to some of theWittenberg away games. This is a great group to join where you will have fun and get to continue your music in college!

Membership: Open to anyone who can play a musical instrument and can read music. Meetings are typically held bi-monthly.

WittMen Crew
President: Shawn Miller, s08.smiller
Adviser: Mike Budney, Admission Counselor
Office Phone: 327-6373

The WittMen Crew was established in 1999 as a small, contemporary Christian men’s chorus with ties to the Wittenberg Choir and the Music Department. This a capella singing group specializes in performing both sacred and secular music. Its main goal is to spread the message of the Gospel and the joys of life through song. Its repertoire features works from the current Top-40 charts to popular songs from the 1950s through the 1990s. It also performs some classically based sacred works. It performs during the school year not only on campus, but also throughout the Springfield community and surrounding areas. Auditions generally take place during the fall semester, with rehearsals occurring twice a week. The WittMen Crew released its first fully recorded compact disk in March 2001.

Activities Include: A Christmas Show toward the end of each fall semester, a spring Show toward the end of the spring semester and other requested events as members’ schedules permit.

Membership: All male members of the Wittenberg Community are welcome to audition for The WittMen Crew. The members are not limited to current participants of the Wittenberg Choir, but it is strongly recommended that members of The WittMen Crew also join the Wittenberg Choir.
