
Tower Hall RA Program Model
Programming Requirements
Programming Proposals (submitted on-line) are absolutely due by the 15th of each month. However, if you would like to have a program prior to the 15th of the month, you must submit your program a minimum of three (3) business days (mon-fri) days prior to your scheduled event. For example, if you want to have a program on Sept. 6th, you must submit your program proposal no later than Sept 1st in order to give the three business day minimum. If you want to do a program on Sept 24th, you must submit your program proposal no later than Sept. 15th. Programs not recieving approval will not count.
Attend one (1) cultural program with your floor sponsored by a campus organization. Please talk to your RC to confirm whether or not the program is considered cultural to ensure you receive credit for this program. (Organizations you may want to check with regarding programs are AIA, CBS, GSA, STAND, Voices, Imani Gospel Choir, Theatre and Dance Department, Multicultural programs and the Womyn’s Center, EAS Club, Jewish Culture Club, etc.).
Attend one (1) athletic event on or off campus with your floor community.
Plan and implement (2) two social program for your floor community. The social programs must be pre-planned and not spontaneous.
Your entire hall staff must plan and implement (1) one all hall/campus wide program or series of programs. The program does not have to be educational in nature; however, you need to invite at least one faculty member to the program. Everyone must have a role in the program. There will be money set aside for this program, and time set aside during fall training and winter renewal to being planning this program.
Attend one (1) campus planned social program with your floor community. (Organizations you may want to check with regarding social programs are Union Board, Outdoors Club, Student Senate, Greek Life, etc.)
Attend one (1) one Witt Series or Convocation with your residents.
Bulletin Board Requirements
Create one (1) bulletin board each month. At least 2 of the 5 bulletin boards must be educational in nature. Bulletin boards are due by 4 p.m. on the following dates: January 7, February 15, March 15, April 16, and May 1.
Floor Interactions
Have one intentional conversation with at least one resident each week. You will be required to give information on your weekly report about this intentional conversation you had with your resident.
Door Decorations
Door Decorations need to be completed prior to students arriving on campus for the Fall Semester.
Advertisements for programs
You must come up with two different methods of advertisements for each program and these must be approved by your Residence Coordinator prior to posting them.
