New Vice President Leads Advancement
Brenda Beebe Duncan, vice president for institutional advancement at Bridgewater College in Virginia, has been named the new vice president for advancement at Wittenberg.
Throughout her 25-year career in university development and alumni relations, Beebe Duncan, who began her new duties on March 31, has consistently exceeded expectations. In addition to completing three capital campaigns for both private and public institutions, she has been leader in fundraising, staff management, board and community
relations, working with volunteers, marketing and strategic planning.
Prior to her current position, where she recently launched a multimilliondollar campaign, Beebe Duncan spent seven years in various roles at theDarden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia (UVA), most recently as its managing director of development. During her tenure, she developed strategies related to major gifts, the annual fund, corporate
and foundation relations, and alumni programming for a $200 million campaign and a $150 million campaign, both under UVA umbrella campaigns of $3 billion and $1 billion, respectively.
Before joining Darden’s team, Beebe Duncan was the director of development at the University of Akron dedicated to the College of Business Administration, where she worked with the Goodyear Executive Leadership Forum, which recognized numerous business leaders, including Hiroski Okuda of Toyota, Roger Penske, J.D. Power, Stanley Gault and W.R. Timken.
Beebe Duncan has also served as the development off icer for public affairs at the University of Hartford in Connecticut and as the executive director of alumnae programs at Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa., and on the National Board of Directors at Ohio University.
A native of Marietta, Ohio, Beebe Duncan earned her B.S. in communications from Ohio University and her M.Ed. from Temple University.
