Coach, Sophomore Advance Men's Swimming and Diving
The Wittenberg men’s swimming and diving team turned in an
outstanding showing at the 2008 North Coast Athletic Conference
(NCAC) championship meet, Feb. 14-16, finishing in fourth place - its
best since 2000. The Tigers finished behind two of the top 10 teams in
the nation, including 29-time national champion Kenyon, in the final
standings.
They did it without the benefit of a single all-conference performance.
In recognition of that fact, Head Coach Natalie Koukis earned her first
NCAC Men’s Coach of the Year award. She previously picked up NCAC
Women’s Coach of the Year honors in 2005 after leading the Tigers to a
program-best third-place finish.
Three Tiger swimmers posted NCAA B Cuts in the conference meet
to earn provisional qualification to the national championships. When
all the times were in, Taylor Smith ’10 was invited to compete in the
NCAA Division III National Championship meet at Miami University
in Oxford, Ohio, March 20-22.
