What it is: When you graduated, you automatically
became a member of the Wittenberg Alumni Association, which is governed by
the Alumni Board.
About the Alumni Board: Approximately 30 people
serve on the Alumni Board. The board has been in existence for nearly 10 years
and had dedicated countless hours to serve the needs and interests of alumni
around the country.
What the Alumni Board has done: Since its founding,
the board has:
Advocated for the evolution of Wittenberg Today to the current Wittenberg
Magazine.
Helped to establish and fund the Wittenberg Alumni & Visitors Center.
Designated honorary alumni status, and selected and presented alumni awards
during Wittenberg’s annual Alumni Weekend and Homecoming.
Established Wittenberg signage along I-70 heading east into Springfield.
Welcomed new students to Wittenberg and gave each member of the Class of 2002
and 2003 a Tiger laundry bag.
Founded the Wittenberg MBNA credit card program, the proceeds of which benefit
the university.
What is the Alumni Board now doing: The board has
taken on a number of projects, including:
Providing feedback on an alumni guide, which will help educate recent graduates
on how to stay involved with other alumni and the university, and what is
expected of alumni.
Improving alumni presence on campus and in the undergraduate experience.
Helping to re-establish regional Alumni Clubs throughout the country.
