McCready to head Wittenberg's Defining Moments Campaign
As director of Wittenberg’s $70 million Defining Moments campaign, she will lead the effort to conclude the largest fund-raising program in the university’s history, which has reached the $56 million plateau with 17 months to go. She replaces Ken Sheetz, who accepted a position at the University of Indianapolis in March. Most recently, McCready served as director of development and constituency relations in the university’s advancement office, and prior to that position, she was the director of the Wittenberg Fund for 10 years. Under her leadership, the annual fund topped the $1 million for the first time.“Kristy has distinguished herself in every position that she has held at Wittenberg and in the Advancement Office,” Dominick said. “I have great confidence in her ability to maintain the momentum of the university’s current $70 million capital campaign and to provide strong leadership in all aspects of our development and constituency relations programs.” As executive director of university advancement, McCready’s responsibilities are supervision of staff in the development and constituency relations area, including The Wittenberg Fund, alumni relations, and parent relations programs; major gift solicitation for the capital campaign; coordination of all major gift activity for the campaign and supervision of regional capital gifts fund-raisers. As director of the campaign, McCready’s primary responsibility will be for its logistical and operational management. A 1978 graduate of Miami University, McCready earned her master’s degree in student personnel and counseling from there in 1980. Wittenberg Magazine P.O.
