Milton S. Hunt, Bend, OR, was featured in the Bend Bulletin as coordinator of the Bethlehem Inn, a rotating church homeless shelter program, and for his involvement in a debate about the two Biblical accounts of creation in Genesis. A retired ELCA clergyman, he is active in the Civil Air Patrol, which awarded him the Oregon Wing Chaplain of the Year 1999.

After 35 years of teaching, Joyce Winterhoff Dresbach, Circleville, OH, has retired. She served as a first-grade teacher with the Teays Valley Local Schools, Ashville, OH, for 31 years.

Melvin J. and Joan Saalfeld Sturtz ’60, live in Fairborn, OH. Melvin has retired after 33 years as a teacher, coach, assistant high school principal and superintendent with the Fairborn City Schools.

Don S. Maddux has moved to Sebastian, FL, following his retirement as a member of the Lancaster (OH) City Council and office manager with Lazarus Hearing Service, Columbus, OH.

Lynn Mowry Cox, Excelsior, MN, teaches developmental/adapted physical education with the Osseo (MN) Area Schools. She received the Minnesota State Leadership Award in D/APE and the George Hanson Award for contribution in D/APE from the Minnesota Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Lynn co-authored Make It Take It, Creating Movement Challenge Kits for Play at Home or School.

Richard W. and Joyce Kanke Koenig live in Hot Springs, AR. Richard owns Village Radio Shack. Joyce owns R. U. Stampin’.

Gerry B. Evans, a production assistant at KNAZ-TV (NBC), Flagstaff, AZ, serves as vice president of the Flagstaff Corvette Club and was recently inducted into the Flagstaff Rotary Club International.

David E. and Nancy Kean Lightner ’61, live in Archbold, OH. Before their retirements, David was a school treasurer and Nancy, a teacher.

Valerie Griffiths Roach, a real estate agent with Ullom Realty, Barboursville, WV, was named “Rookie of the Year” with Better Homes and Gardens for being first in the number of transactions for 1999 in Division 4. She lives in Huntington, WV.

Irvine, the New York-based classical pianist and theatre music director who heads The Other Side of Broadway, was the piano soloist for a concert featuring music by composers usually known for their theatre scores, Timothy Brown, Galt MacDermot, David Amram, Charles Strouse and Frederick Loewe.

Mary F. Zolman, McLean, VA, married Carl C. Monk, June 26, 1999. Mary is a language arts specialist with the Arlington (VA) Public Schools.

Charles V. Painter, head women’s tennis coach at Wright State University, Dayton, OH, since 1989, retired in 1999. He has been inducted in the Dayton Area Amateur Tennis Association Hall of Fame.

Richard A. Frye, a trial lawyer and partner in the Chester, Wilcox & Saxbe LLP law firm, has been appointed by Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer to chair the newly created Committee to Review Reporting of Opinions.

Virginia M. Tucker, Gjettum, Norway, married Hallvard Ringnes, Feb. 11, 2000. Virginia is a translator with the Central Bank of Norway.

Meta E. Zimmeck, London, England, has been named head of the voluntary and community research section with the Research, Development and Statistics Directorate of the Home Office. She has also been appointed chair of Hornsey Housing Trust, a housing association that provides homes for senior citizens.
