Larry H. James is the first African American lawyer to achieve namedpartner status of a majority firm with a Columbus (OH) law firm, Crabbe, Brown & James. Stephen R. Wise, Beaufort, SC, recently addressed the Perrysburg (OH) Rotary Club on the subjectof the H.L. Hunley, the world’s first submarine to sink an enemy vessel. He is the director of the museum and the cultural resource manager with the Marine Corp Recruit Depot at Parris Island, SC, and the author of two books on the Civil War.
