A friend of mine sent me the summer issue of your magazine, and I’m reading with interest Dan Stroeh’s “Premiere of a Career.” I greatly admire his courage. He is a survivor — not a victim.
I have lived with neurofibromatosis (NF) for 75 years, experiencing life-threatening situations and other problems. I worked in the medical field and did and still do everything that I can do — you either sink or swim, and I’m not going to drown.
It is disturbing to read in the first paragraph of his article that Stroeh “had” (he still has it) a painful and “incurable” disease....There is no known cure for NF. There’s a cure somewhere out there; we just haven’t found it yet. Think positive!
