Ohio Governor taps alumna and board member as a running mate
Ohio Gov. Bob Taft has named
Jennette Bradley ’74 as his running mate
for his re-election bid this year.
A member of the Wittenberg Board
of Directors, Bradley is vice president and
senior public finance director for Huntington
National Bank in Columbus. She also
serves on the Columbus City Council, a
position she has been elected to three times
since 1991.
“Jennette Bradley has a unique background
to serve as Lt. Governor,” Taft said.“She brings to the ticket significant
administrative and legislative experience,
and a distinguished career in the private
sector.”
The Columbus Dispatch has described
Bradley as “a strong, serious and independent
voice” on city council.
“I’m honored and proud to run with
Governor Taft,” Bradley said. “Throughout
my professional career, I’ve worked hard to represent the interests of everyday
Ohioans. As Lt. Governor, I’ll be able to
expand my focus to a statewide level.”

Bradley was active
on campus,
serving as as a
peer counselor
working with
freshmen students,
a tutor in
Upward Bound,
a resident hall
adviser, a member
of Concerned
Black
Students, Union
Board and a half-time entertainment group
called the Syncopates.
Bradley was chosen as one of the Columbus
Jaycees’ 10 Outstanding Young
Citizens and named the Young Career
Woman of Ohio by the Business and Professional
Women’s Clubs of Ohio.
Bradley and her husband, Michael C.
Taylor, reside in Columbus.
