Former John Carroll University men’s basketball standout Artie Taylor joined the Wittenberg coaching staff in August.
Taylor joins the Tigers after spending one season as the head reserve coach and varsity assistant at Cardinal Ritter High School in his hometown of Indianapolis, Ind. Prior to that, Taylor spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Defiance College, where he coached a squad that won regular season and tournament championships, and earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
As a player, Taylor helped JCU to two conference championships and three berths in the NCAA Tournament. He was an all-conference and all-region selection, and ended his career as the second-leading rebounder in school history. Following the conclusion of his playing career, Taylor worked as a student assistant for the John Carroll squad during the 1998-99 season.
