In conjunction with National Denim Day, an annual event that recognizes the prevalence of breast cancer in society in hopes of discovering a cure, the sisters of Delta Gamma sorority sponsored a campus-wide event to assist in the effort. In addition to collecting donations, the sisters distributed pink strips of paper throughout the campus prior to National Denim Day, Oct. 4, on which faculty, staff and students wrote the names of anyone personally affected by breast cancer. The paper strips were then transformed into a chain, which stretched through parts of the Benham-Pence Student Center.
