Project Kaleidoscope Director Addresses Campus

Believing that well designed science spaces offer unprecedented opportunities for discovery and collaboration, Jeanne Narum, founding director of Project
Kaleidoscope, a Washington, D.C.-based informal national alliance working to build strong learning environments for undergraduate students in engineering, mathematics and science, marveled at the new Barbara Deer Kuss Science Center during her interactive address titled “New Spaces for Science — What Difference Will They Make,” Sept. 18, in Bayley Auditorium.
The clearest indicator for a prospective student regarding the school’s quality and handle on technology “is the quality of the science building and science facilities,” Narum said. Science buildings are being designed to dissolve boundaries between disciplines, she explained, and “what you’ve accomplished here is your big dream.”
