More than 80 people volunteered their time as part of Wittenberg’s third annual Celebrate Service Day, April 24.
Hosted by the Office of Community Service and Office of Alumni Relations, the day provided participants with the opportunity to assist at seven different sites in and around the Springfield community.
Volunteers helped with landscaping, painting and general maintenance at Oesterlen Services for Youth, MRDD, Kenwood Elementary, Interfaith Hospitality Network, the Animal Welfare League, Lincoln Park and On the Rise.
“It was great to see faculty, alumni, students and staff working together to serve others,” said Caitlin Coleman ’05, one of the project’s coordinators.
Established to coincide with April’s National Day of Service, the day
concluded with a picnic on Stoughton Lawn. For more information on next year’s
